Summer Day Camp
For summer 2011, the camp will be run by the Nazarene Church from June 27 - July 1.
August 2-6, 2010
St. Paul’s Lutheran Church usually hosts a week-long, non-denominational Summer Day Camp each summer during the first week of August. The camp is open to all children entering first grade through those entering sixth grade. Enrollment for 2009 was 34 students. Community Presbyterian Church and St. Mary's Catholic Church contribute financially, along with the host church, so there is no cost to the children who attend the camp. Lunches for staff and students are also free.
The Summer Day Camp is led by trained, enthusiastic college-age staff from Lutherhaven, a Lutheran camp located in Coeur d'Alene. During the week, the students participate in worship, singing, Bible study, arts and crafts, and play time. Volunteers, both adults and former camp participants from the sponsoring churches, assist the staff. Summer Day Camp hours are 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Thursday evening is a program put on by the students for their parents and friends.
