LCMC (Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ)
St. Paul's Lutheran Church is proud to be a member of LCMC. Our congregation decided in 2001 we wanted more independance in how we ran our church, and so we voted to leave the ELCA and join LCMC.
"Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ is an association of congregations and individuals who are:
- Free in Christ;
- Accountable to one another;
- Rooted in the Scriptures and the Lutheran Confessions;
- Working together to fulfill Christ's Great Commission to "go and make disciples of all nations."

LCMC, as an "association" of congregations, is unique in its structure. We do not have a hierarchy. The association employs but two people. Rev. Bill Sullivan of Canton, Michigan is our Service Coordinator. Bill travels extensively, meeting with congregations interested in joining LCMC. Sharon MacFadyen lives in Cypress, Texas, and is the LCMC Financial Secretary. We have a Board of Directors who are elected at the annual national gathering; they volunteer their time and meet quarterly.
Nationally, there are several geographical "Districts" and several non-geographical Districts to which congregations may belong. St. Paul's is a member of the Northwest District, LCMC. There are currently seven congregations that belong to the N.W. District. Our District has a Council that meets quarterly and we hold a convention annually. Our District also publishes a quarterly newsletter, The Northwest Link (see "Newsletters" tab).
LCMC does not make social statements, but for one: Marriage is reserved for the union between one man and one woman. Our primary mission is to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, not to tout social issue causes. Congregations call their own Pastors. All pastors and congregations must subscribe to our Statement of Faith. Assistance to provide pastors is the responsibility of the Board of Ministry.
